Help is available at the library for your book club.
ALGONQUIN BOOK CLUB
This local book club meets in the Rotary Room at the Petawawa Public Library on the first Thursday of every month at 7 pm. Information about free membership and book selections is available at: www.algonquinbookclub.ca
SUPPORT FOR LOCAL BOOK CLUBS
The library is happy to support local book clubs. Individual members of the Petawawa Public Library may request copies of book club selections through Interlibrary Loan. Visit the library to fill out the request or use the Interlibrary Loan Online Request Form.
Please Note: We do not normally bring in books we already have in our collection, soit is very important to indicate it is for a book club so proper arrangements can be made.
Some book clubs choose a representative to deal directly with the Interlibrary Loans Librarian at 613-6878-2227 ext. 25 or at kthompson@bellnet.ca.
In addition, keep in mind the following important information pertaining to all Interlibrary Loan Requests.
1) We are not able to fulfill requests for books published within the last 12 months or appearing on Oprah's list within that same time frame. These books will be in high demand at the libraries that own them and will not be released to us.
2) It may take up to several weeks or even more than a month to receive and process the book.
3) You will be charged a fine for returning the book late or failing to pick up the book when notified.
NOVELIST
NoveList is a fiction database that can help you choose titles based on the criteria of your choosing. The Discussion Guide feature is particularly helpful for book clubs. (Log in to NoveList using your 14-digit library card number.)
