MEMBERSHIP POLICIES

Membership at the Petawawa Public Library is free to Petawawa Residents, and renewed every two years. To register, visit the library in person with Photo ID and documentation of your current address.

Lost cards can be replaced for a fee of $5.00.

Non-Residents are welcome to use the library and may obtain a card for an annual fee of $30.00. Photo ID and proof of address is also required.

Teachers may take out a membership with special privileges to support their classroom activities. For more information, please email the Children's Librarian or call 613-687-2227 ext. 2203. Teacher memberships are renewable every school year.

If you fall into a different category, please email the library or call 613-687-2227 ext. 0 to discuss your membership options.

 

Books, Talking Books and Periodicals - 3 Weeks
May be renewed if not overdue or on hold.

Movies, Music and CD-ROMs - 1 Week
May be renewed once if not overdue or on hold.
Limit of 5 per household from each category.

Museum Passes - 1 Week
No renewals. No holds for specific days accepted.
Limit of 1 per household.

Books for School Projects
Limit of 2 per student.


Overdue Charges
Materials returned after the due date will be considered overdue and overdue fines will be charged as follows:
Books/Talking Books/Magazines $0.25/day Max. $5.00
Videos/Museum Passes $1.00/day Max. $10.00
Compact Discs/CD ROMs $0.50/day Max. $5.00
Tape and Book Combos $0.50/day Max. $10.00

Please remember that reminder calls and emails for overdue items are a courtesy. You are ultimately responsible for the materials borrowed on your card. Visit the online Catalogue and sign in using your Library Card number and PIN to review your account and renew your items before they are overdue.

 

Confidentiality

The confidential information of library members will not be released to any person other than the library member, his/her legal guardian in the case of a juvenile member, or to any institution or agency for any reason save as may be required by federal or provincial legislation.
