KIDS' PROGRAMS

STORYTIME


Tuesday Storytime (for 3-6 yr olds) begins September 21 and Wednesday Storytime (for 3-6 yr olds) begins September 22 at 10am. Registration begins September 1.

Toddler Storytime (for 2-3 yr olds) begins Monday September 27 and will run on the last Monday of each month at 10am. Please register at the beginning of each month.

Starting September 25, Saturday Storytime will take place every week at 1pm. No registration required and all ages are welcome.

PAWS TO READ


What a great way to encourage reading! Sign your child up for a 15 min. reading session with a certified therapy dog. Get your child excited about reading again!

CRAZY FUN EVENT NIGHTS


Register now for Diary of a Wimpy Kid (September 9) and Pajama Party at the Library (October 7).

Registration starts on October 1 for the "back by popular demand" Fancy Nancy Tea Party (October 15).

Project 411


Start the school year off right! These sessions are designed to help Grade 7 & 8 students learn how to use our databases to get their research done faster. (6-7pm on September 23 or October 21).

NATIONAL FAMILY WEEK (October 4-10)


The Petawawa Military Family Centre and its community partners (including the Petawawa Public Library) have planned an entire week dedicated to family fun. View the complete schedule of National Family Week events here.

The library is hosting the Pajama Party at the Library (October 7 from 6-7pm). Bring your family for a PJ party! We will have some great stories, treats and crafts.Please register at 613-687-2227 ext. 0.

Don't miss the TEEN “SEEN” CHALLENGE! Bring a family member into the library to read with at anytime during National Family Week! Make sure you sign yourself and your family member in to begin your reading challenge. Read one of our selected books with your family member for 15 minutes. Once you sign out, you will be entered in a draw to win movie tickets!

FAMILIES GET CAUGHT READING AT THE PETAWAWA LIBRARY! Read one of our featured books with a family member in the library during National Family Week and you could becaught! Don’t forget to enter your name in the draw to win some great prizes!

EARLY LITERACY STATION


Visit the Children's Department to try out the new Early Literacy Station for ages 2 - 10 years. Lots of age appropriate educational programs to experience. Click here to see a list of what's available.

READING BUDDIES


Improve your child's reading by registering him or her for Reading Buddies!   The program pairs your child (grade 1 and up) with a high school student who is earning community service credit.  "Buddies" meet at the library once a week to work on reading skills by reading aloud with each other. Register now.

SPECIAL CHILDREN'S ACTIVITIES
